1.5 cups sugar 1 cup vegetable oil 3 large eggs 2 cups all purpose flour (if using self-raising flour omit baking soda and salt) 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon vanilla 0.5 teaspoon salt 3 cups chopped tart apples (= 3 medium apples) (a receita original é 3 cups shredded carrots = 5 medium carrots) 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts (eu usei pistachios, era o que havia)
1- Heat oven to 350ºF. Grease bottom and sides of pan with shortening (margarina também serve) ; lightly flour 2- Beat sugar, oil and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on low speed about 30 seconds or until blended 3- Add remaining ingredients except apples and nuts. Pour into pan. 4- Bake 35-45 minutes, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pan and let cool about 1 hour.
